9 Ways For How Long To Cook Pork Loin Per Pound

A delicious method is 9 Ways For How Long To Cook Pork Loin Per Pound – Steaks In Oven, crock pot, instant pot, and in air fryer roast joint. A while ago I posted my method for roasting pork perfectly.

There is also a lot of question there too. One that comes up often is whether you can use the same method on pork loin, or just on the pork butt as the recipe calls for.

My answer is not always. Pork loin is much leaner than pork butt so if you cook it in the long method that I have used, you would end up with very dry pork. First, just to be clear, I am talking about pork loin today, not about the pork tenderloin. These are two different things. If you would like to know how to prepare pork tenderloin, head here.

How Long To Cook Pork Loin (Time Needed)

Cook In Crock Pot:

Unlike pork butt and pork shoulder, which roast up nice and juicy as shown here, pork tenderloin can end up dry when it is cooked. That is because it is such a lean cut of meat. Cooking it can, therefore, be challenging.  It is not impossible though.

There are just a few things you need to do to get serious about the juicy pork tenderloin. There are two different things between the methods of “how long to cook pork loin” and pork tenderloin. Here is now the method of pork tenderloin.

  • Remove the silverskin.
  • Brine the tenderloin.
  • Make the tenderloin an equal thickness.
  • Season.
  • Bake it.

Put the pork tenderloin in a baking dish that fits it easily without needing to bend it at them all. Put it into a microwave oven that has been preheated to 350°F. Bake for 20-27 minutes, until the internal temperature on an instant-read thermometer, is at 145°F.

Cook In Instant Pot

Like with the roasted pork butt, I use the final-sear method which is how long to cook pork loin, I first learned from roasting prime rib according to serious eats instructions. Basically, you put the roast pork into a moderate or low oven.

You take it out when it is reaching the correct temperature (145°F for pork loin) and let it rest for a good 30 minutes. Finally, you crank up the microwave oven high (475°F) and give the roast pork the last blast in there for 10 minutes to brown and crisp up the outside of the roasted pork loin.

So, this is what we are going to do. Here are the following instruction steps for roasting pork loin:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix together 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.

Step 2: Sprinkle it all over the pork loin roast.

Step 3: Rub it all over until it is coated.

Step 4: Put the roast pork on the rack in the roasting pan. If you do not have a rack that fits in your roasting pan, use 3 stalks of celery like this.

Step 5: Put the roast into the microwave oven.

Step 6: Roast until the internal temperature of the oven is 145°F-160°F.

Step 7: Cover the roasting pan with foil paper and let rest for 30 minutes.

Step 8: Heat oven up to 475°F. Uncover the roast and remove the thermometer. Put it into the clean pan and roast for another 10 minutes.

Step 9: Use those 10 minutes to make it gravy, if desired. If you got the nice roasting juices in your first roasting pan, then here is how to make the basic gravy using those drippings. If you didn’t get juices, then here is how to make gravy without the drippings.

Remove roast from the microwave oven and serve immediately.

Cook In Air Fryer:

1/2 tsp. black pepper.

1/2 tsp. garlic powder.

1/4 tsp. salt.

3-5lb. pork loin roast.

3 ribs celery (optional).

All of the above mentioned methods are the best ways of how long to cook a pork loin.
