Banana Bread Recipe | How to make Chocolate Banana Bread!

In this article, we are going to guide you about banana bread recipe which will be very helpful for you to make it easy.

John Kanell from Preppy Kitchen here. Today we’re making this decadently delicious banana bread with a slew of spices, tons of chocolate chips and a lot of bananas. It’s packed with fruit and it’s called bread, so how can it not be healthy, I ask you? How? Let’s get started.

First off I’m gonna be mashing my mummified bananas (laughs) into this bowl. Just kidding. They’re not mummified. I did not have those super ripe bananas that are best for the recipe. I had regular ripe bananas.

So I baked them at 350 Fahrenheit on a baking sheet for about 10 minutes until they blackened and they’re gooey inside. This will be like the worst thing ever to find in your lunchbox (laughs). Okay those other two in there.

That is like a horror story. Eh, banana texture is a trigger, I know. Now you can mash it up with a fork if you want or you know, your bare hands. Okay, that is a gooey, pudding-like consistency. Setting it aside, and now let’s whisk up those dry ingredients.

We’re gonna use a bowl and uh, so far away, the scale. It’s supposed to do that. Okay zero your scale out and one and 3/4 cups or 217, 15 grams of all purpose flour. 1/2 a teaspoon of all-spice, one of my favorites.

1/4 teaspoon of cardamon. One teaspoon of cinnamon. Finishing off the dry ingredients with a teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of baking powder and a teaspoon of baking soda. All the rising agents. Let’s sift it out and then we’ll whisk it up.

Setting it aside. Now we’re gonna cream the butter. One stick, 113 grams, 1/2 a cup. I don’t know how many ounces it is, but that’s what we’re gonna do. Very room-temperature, unsalted butter into my stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment will cream it up.

(stand mixer whirring) I have half a cup of white sugar, 1/4 cup of lightly packed brown sugar. Look at this, hmm. (stand mixer whirring) Right, you’re gonna mix it up until it is light and fluffy, and by the by if you want to like go a little bit extra, you could brown your butter first.

(upbeat music) Scrape your bowl down why not. (stand mixer whirring) Now it is time for dos huevos, one at a time. (mixer whirring) Let it mix in, and then the second egg. (mixer whirring) Yes you can scrape your bowl down again, why not? It is not a contest, but that’s some A-plus scraping.

(upbeat music) Back to business. So we have our eggs in there. What about some yogurt for a little bit of extra moisture and tang. Just two teaspoons should be fine. There we go, put that away. Mix that up.

(mixer whirring) Gonna toss in a teaspoon of vanilla extract . And now, what about the bananas you ask? Well here they are, just toss them in. It’s up to you, I kinda like a little bit of banana texture because they taste delicious when they’re baked and they’re just so moist and nice, but if you want it to be totally homogenous you can puree it in a blender.

Do whatever you want. Okay. We’re gonna mix this in. (mixer whirs) Oh! My face (laughs) how dare you? All right, now let’s put our flour mixture inside. (claps) Mix on low. (Mixer whirs) You can smell all the smells right now.

It’s delicious. (mixer whirs) Okay, that’s good. All right, now it’s time for one and a half cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips, amazing! If you wanted to you could add in whatever you want.

Coconut? Toasted nuts? Bits of garbage? It’s your dish. (mixer whirs) That’s good. So I’m gonna set this aside for a moment. After I clean my batter off, set that aside. Get a sheet of parchment paper.

I like to have a bit of a handle to pull it out so I don’t, you know, man-handle the surface or anything. So just fold over a sheet of parchment, oh wait, that’s two. (paper rustles) Fold over a sheet of parchment paper.

You wanna have like 9 inches or just a little bit less than the length of your pan. (paper rustles) Okay, use a knife or a scissors. (paper rustles) That’s a sharp knife. And we’re just going to add a little bit of baking spray or butter, whatever you want to the inside of the pan.

Place the paper in, press the paper down. And now we have two handles we can use to pull our baked bread out of the pan and not worry about getting like chocolate on your fingers or marring the surface.

Dump the batter out. Oh that smells so good. (laughs) So good. Just get all that batter off of your spatula. This will level out in the oven, but let’s level it beforehand too. There we go, that looks much better.

This is officially finished, however what about the top? Let’s make the top look nice and pretty. We’re gonna add some chocolate chips on here. You can sprinkle them strategically or be an extra-double Virgo like some of us and place them more carefully.

But you wanna have some nice even coverage, so that it looks nice and even. Don’t mind me, I’ll just be individually placing chocolate chips to fill the gaps in. That looks nice. I’m done.

This is gonna go into the oven at 350 Fahrenheit, 177 Celsius for a little bit less than an hour, maybe check it at 50 minutes and see how it’s doing. Use a skewer, test the center, let it cool down before you chomp into it though.

Don’t burn your tongue. Look who came to visit her grandkids, my children. – And my son. – Yeah, my mother Rita, hi. – Hello. – So my mom used to make this all the time, like… – Whenever you want bananas.

– This is like all my childhood memories here, but this is actually my recipe. I asked my mom for her recipe. I was like, “Mom, send it over,” and you gave me a wonderful banana zucchini bread.

Which I’m sure is delicious. – I couldn’t find my older one. – But I love it. And would you like to try it out? – I’d love to try it out. – Okay, I’m gonna have like half of this piece for you, you can take a bite.

Half of this piece for me. – Ready? – And let’s give it a test. (upbeat music) – Unbelievable. – It’s so moist. – Hmm – And – Hmm – It’s chocolate. – It’s all for me. Thank you. – All right.

You can take it. Thanks. My hands are so much lighter now. If you like that video, you’ve gotta check out my chocolate zucchini cake. It will blow your mind. Maybe the best chocolate cake you’ve ever had in your life.
